The Karachi Board of Secondary Education was established as an independent entity in 1974 through the “Amendment to the Sindh Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education No. 20 of 1973”. The Karachi Secondary Education Commission is not only a reviewing body, it is also responsible for maintaining and controlling standards of education and other activities to ensure the physical, moral and spiritual development of university students. The committee has the power to organize, regulate, develop and control secondary education. The controlling body of the committee is the Governor of Sindh or his nominee.
